If you are wondering what to buy your preschooler for Christmas, you may want to take a look at some of the great "Dora the Explorer" and "Go, Diego, Go" toys and games that are on sale. Chances are, if you are buying something this Christmas for a preschooler, that they would be enthusiastic about Diego or Dora, and would love to play with something that revolves around these themes.
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the vast array of "Dora the Explorer" and "Go, Diego, Go!" DVDs that are on sale. New, most of these retail for well under and they normally include either four episodes, or one double feature plus two other episodes of the Diego or Dora TV shows. They really are a hit, and knowing how much pre-schoolers tend to love repetition, they really don't get tired of watching these shows over and over again.

Or, if you are looking for something different, you could check out the themed Fisher Price toys, such as "Go Diego Go Dinosaur Rescue Mountain" or the "Talking Rescue Center". There are a lot of really good Fisher Price themed toys to choose from and from my experience kids even as old as four or five will play with them for hours, especially if they're playing along with someone else. While they are a bit more expensive than some other toys, they really do give you value for money and the fact that they're well made and thus long lasting means that they can be kept and even handed down to other children.
A cheaper game that some kids enjoy, that could be considered somewhat educational as well, is the Go, Diego Go 123 Game. This particular board game can be played by up to four players at a time, which does add to the enjoyment. You receive ten different boards where the animals are depicted according to their particular characteristics. Children then pull an animal out of a bag, and match it with one of the animals on either their card, or one of the other cards. The winner is the child whose card is filled first. Most three and four year olds are happy to play the game, but for older children it does tend to be a little boring for them. Good for teaching animal basics and counting numbers.
More Diego related things you may be interested in, especially with Christmas coming up, are Go Diego Go costumes and other related items, such as backpacks, etc. Or, if your child is just starting to learn to read by themselves, they may like to read the Leapfrog tag readers! There's also a very good Play-Doh Diego play-set which kids will spend hours playing with, from experience. For very young children who love Diego, there are also cute Diego bath toys too.
